Singapore trip for Smart City officials soon: Singhdeo

Bhubaneswar, March 3: Officials engaged in the Bhubaneswar Smart City initiative will be sent to Singapore to review various programmes there, Housing and Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo has said.

In a meeting with Mumbai-based Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore Ajit Singh here, Singhdeo said on Wednesday necessary programmes to be taken up for Smart City Bhubaneswar were discussed in detail.

“We discussed ways to make Bhubaneswar a  smart city in which basic services will be provided in a hassle free manner to the people.

The Minister said he stressed the need for holding a joint meeting of the technical advisor, sociologist, funds investor and plan making agencies in the primary level for preparing a blue print of the smart city.

Singhdeo expressed his interest to invite international companies of Singapore to work for development of smart city on PPP mode. “In this regard, emphasis will be laid on signing an MoU between Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)”, said the Minister.
