SIT Reaches Gumudumaha

Phulbani, July 19: The special Investigation Team (SIT) reached Gumuduma today to look into Kandhamal Killing matter. The SIT probed into the death of five innocent tribal killed in crossfire between security personnel and Maoist in Kandhamal district on July 8. Sources informed, the team has had discussions on the incident with the family of the deceased and injured.

The SIT led by ADG Mahendra Pratap have already visited Baliguda for collecting information regarding investigation done so far and also held questions to the SOG Commandant and Pinak Mishra, SP of Kandhamal regarding this incident at the PWD inspection house.

Notably, five tribal, including two women and one child were killed during the crossfiring between the Special Operation Group (SOG) and Maoists at Malapanga forest on July 8. To probe the incident, Chief Minister Naveen Patniak directed a Special Investigation team of the State Human Rights Protection cell (HRPC).
