SJTA staff suspended for stealing donation money

Puri, Dec 13: A staff of Shri Jagannath temple Administration (SJTA) was suspended on Monday by the temple Administration for stealing donation money of the Lord.

Identified as Uma Rath, the accused had allegedly stole money while counting of donation fund put in the donation box, said sources.

To be noted, the Hundi was opened yesterday evening in the presence of Damodar Panda, Dharanidhar Nayak, Uma Rath and Jalandhar Behera. While the cash was being transported, Uma was successful in stealing two Rs 2000 denomination notes. Temple Admin staff Pradeep Jena caught the incident and informed the SJTA officials. While the CCTV footage was scanned, Uma was recorded of stealing money. But Uma refused of the allegations made by the authorities, while the notes were found from his pockets.

Later, he was suspended from the Admin by the Chief Administrator of SJTA.
