Gajapati, Dec 7: Another incident of sorcery came to fore on Tuesday here when the hostel warden of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya brutally treated the illness of one of the hostel inmate. The warden locked the inmate inside a chili smoke filled room on Monday night. Instead of providing medical treatment, the warden carried out this brutal practice calling it a treatment, citing that the sick girl was possessed by a ghost. Thus, 95 students left the hostel. The other employees of the school somehow managed to bring back some students back but still 22 girls are yet to come back.
It’s stated that the hostel warden named Biswas Ray used to intimidate them mentally by referring them with words like dog, pig, etc. On the top of that, there was a lack of water and electricity and also the inmates were not being served food in a proper way which made the stay in hostel even worse. The other employees of the hostel arrived at their gathering near Block Education Officer’s (BEO) office and took some of students back to the hostel thus assuring no negligence in future.
