Cuttack, Dec 7: In a tragic incident an elderly man named Gunanidhi Nayak died on Wednesday while he was in Police custody. The incident happened at Kishan Nagar Police station here. It has been alleged that the reason behind his death are tortures by the police.
Around 2 AM, Kishan Nagar police station officials took Nayak to the police station from his house. While asked about the reason behind his arrest, police said to Nayak’s daughter that next morning she would know the reason on visiting the police station.
But when she arrived the police station, police informed her that Nayak has been hospitalized in Rahunathpur Hospital. On reaching the hospital, the family member got shocked when they found Nayak dead.
