SSPL GM’s murder case: Three prime accused hospitalized consecutively in Cuttack, Odisha

Cuttack, Dec 28: Interestingly, the three, Mahima Mishra, his close aide Basant Pal and Odisha Congress leader, Bapi Sarkhel, who are allegedly involved in the murder of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited’s (SSLL) General Manger, Mahendra Swain, fell ill just one the other and were hospitalized on consecutive days. Mishra and Bal suddenly fell ill after they were sent to the Samagol Jail on Tuesday, following which they were admitted to the Jagatsingpur District Headquarters Hospital. Mishra complained of suffering from high blood pressure and chest pain.

Today Bal, due to his declining health condition, has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital. Both Mishra and Bal were arrested from Thailand and on their bail petitions being rejected, the duo were sent to Samaol Jail. Today both Mishra and Bal would be moving to the district and session court for seeking bail.

Also Congress leader, Arindam Sarkhel aka Bapi had to be hospitalized at the SCB Medical College and Hospital as he complained of suffering from severe chest pain. Sarkhel who is now at the Chowdar Jail, was admitted to the cardiology department of the hospital. However, he was later discharged and taken back to jail. Sarkhel was arrested on Nov 18 on charges of having alleged links in the murder of Swain.
