State signs MoU with EIL for implementation of civic projects in AMRUT towns

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: State Housing and Urban Development department and Engineers India Limited (EIL),  a Navaratna public sector company under Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to provide end-to-end support for design, development, implementation and integrated management of the projects like water supply, sewerage, storm water drainage urban transport in nine AMRUT towns of Odisha.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today in the Secretariat conference hall.  As per terms of the MoU,  EIL will henceforth function as project development and management consultant (PMDC) for the State government.

As many as nine cities including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Puri, Bhadrak, Rourkela, Balasore and Baripada have been included under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transmission ( AMRUT) Mission.

For the year 2015-16, the Central government has approved the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) worth around Rs 461 crore to be utilized in 85 projects in the nine cities.
