Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur, Mar 30: Yesterday the Odisha government conveyed a clear message to the irate medicos at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla that strict action will be taken against the doctors who fail to join their new allotted workplace. Additional secretary of Health Department, Surjit Das informed this to media and also said that since the State is facing shortage of doctors, there is little scope of cancelling the transfer order as demanded by some local political parties. The doctors have been transferred on the basis of promotion and they have been sent new medical colleges like Baripada in Mayurbhanj and Koraput where the sessions will start from the new academic session. He stated that the health services would not be hampered even if strike by the doctors at VIMSAR continues.
