Students residing in hostels in Ravenshaw University today vacated the hostels and eight platoons of police camped inside the campus after university authorities declared sine die last evening following clashes between rival student groups after Student union elections were declare.
Students were seen vacating the hostel this morning following repeated announcements over public address system by the police.
Prohibitory orders under section 144 has since been clamped in the university campus.
While male boarders were given deadline till 8 am on Thursday morning, girl boarders were allowed till 10 am to leave their respective hostels.
The oath-taking ceremony of the victorious students’ union candidates, as was officially slated on Thursday has been kept in abeyance till the re-opening of the university.
