Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: On Tuesday the Laxmisagar police lodged two cases against Artha Tatwa (AT) chief Pradeep Sethy for making a suicidal prank inside the premises of the Jharpada Jail on Saturday late night. This took place just after the jail officials filed a FIR with the police on Monday. The cases have been registered under Sections 309 (attempt to suicide) and 186 (Obstructing a public servant in discharge of public function) of IPC.
Sethy had made a suicide prank by inflicting injuries on his hand, reports further informed that they were minor injuries and he had also threatened the officials of committing suicide, informed Arun Kumar Ray, IG. A warning regarding not to repeat the act has also been given to Sethy by the jail authorities and a probe has also been initiated on this matter by the DIG jail. Jharpada jail Superintendent, Rabindra Swain reported to the media the condition of Pradip saying that nothing major had happened to him and his suicidal attempt was just a prank to fear the jail authorities. He further added that for the time being Pradip has been kept in the ward after being undergone necessary treatment from the jail doctor and also an extra warden has been appointed to keep a check on him.
