Sum Hospital Mishap: 21 eye-witnesses to appear before the RDC today in state capital

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30: After the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) on Tuesday recorded statements of the three eye-witness, RDC has summoned around 21 people to appear before the RDC, Central on Wednesday in connection with Sum hospital fire mishap.

Among 20 summoned eyewitnesses, the statement of 3 could be recorded by RDC AB Ota yesterday. On December 6, the remaining statements of eyewitness will be recorded, Ota informed.

Informing more about this, Ota said that the deposition of witnesses will be held here. Among the witnesses, Manoj Nayak, Trustee of SUM hospital, Collector of Khurda, fire officials who were involved in this mishap, health officials and BDA are included and have been asked to depose.

It may be noted that for statement recording, authorities of DMET, CDMO and hospital officials have been asked to appear before the Commissioner. The doctors who carried out the deceased’s autopsy will also be giving their respective statements.

To investigate in the Sum Hospital fire mishap which had happened on October 1, the State government had directed an RDC probe. Till the last date, 393 affidavits have been received.

On the other side, trustees of the Siksha O Anusanadhan (SOA) charitable trust, Saswati Das and Arati Nayak have been quizzed by the Commissionerate police on Sunday.
