Suspected terrorist Abdur Rehman lodged in Chowdar jail upto May 17

Salipur, May 15: Today the Salipur Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court gave instructions to the CB STF to lodge the suspected Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) operative Abdur Rehman at Choudwar Jail in Cuttack upto May 17. This order came in observance of the petition filed by Rehman’s lawyer. Rehman was made to appear in the court with high security level after being brought from the Tihar Jail in New Delhi. He was produced before the court on the basis of an appeal made by the STF. Later, Rehman’s counsel sought court permission to lodge him in jail in the State. Abdur Rehman was held in a joint raid conducted by the special cell of Delhi police and the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on Dec 15, 2015.  Rehman has been charged for illegally running a Madrasa on the the outskirts of Cuttack and there preparing youths for terror activities.
