Kalinganagar, Dec 24: Initiating a step towards the welfare of the people, the model school, Adarsha Vidyalaya constructed by Tata Steel has been inaugurated by Pritiranjan Ghadai, Sukinda MLA on Friday at Gohirapatuli in Jajpur. During the event Tata Steel’s Corporate Service GM Prasant Mallick, Tata Steel’s Chief Resident Executive Manikant Naik, Tata Steel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Chief Biren Ramesh Bhuta and Chairman of Danagadi Block Lalita Ray were present.
Tata Steel is to construct 30 Adarsha Vidyalayas in the state and among those 30 schools, this one is the first. It will play an important role to cement up education in the area, informed Tata steel’s Vice President, Corporate Service, Sunil Bhaskaran. He also thanked the state government for supporting the same. The school has come up with a two-storey building in 25,000 square feet area, for which around Rs 4.57 core has been invested. Tata Steel’s subsidiary company Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (JUSCO) has constructed the school.
It may be noted that, to facilitate educational facility in remote areas, 30 Adarsha Vidyalayas will be set up by Tata Steel out of which 9 will be set up in Jajpur.
