Bhubaneswar, April 4: The temperature continued to soar across the State today with as many as six places recording above 40 degrees Celsius temperature.
The temperature touched the 43 degrees mark in Titlagarh, Bhawanipatna, while Hirakud recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius, Bolangir (42 degrees) Sundergarh ( 40 degrees), Sambalpur (41.8 degrees) and Jharsuguda ( 41.8 degrees), Met office bulletin here said in the evening.
The bulletin said the temperatures in Sonepur and Angul hovered around the 39.7 mark during the day.
Balasore recorded 38 degrees Celsius, Chandbali 37.9 degrees while the temperature in the State capital was bearable 37.2 degrees though humid.
Kendujhargarh recorded 38.8 degrees Celsius, Phulbani 37.8 degrees and Talcher 38.9 degrees, the bulletin said.
However, Gopalpur was the coolest place with 30.6 degrees Celsius, the bulletin added.
The Met office has forecast similar situation in the next four to five days though predicted rain, thunderstorm in some parts of the State during the period.
