Tourists fail to visit Sun Temple for second day:

Konark: May 07: For consecutive second day, tourists could not visit Sun Temple at Konark as protest over entry fee hike continued on Saturday. According to reports, members of Konark Surakhya Samiti locked the ticket counter and staged a demonstration on Saturday. Members of Konark Suraksha Samiti (KSS), organisation working for preservation and conservation of the monument has been staging dharna in front of the Temple gate since Friday. Many tourists, who came from outside the state expressed displeasure and returned disappointed.

Notably, The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had last month announced three-fold hike for domestic visitors and 100 per cent for foreign tourists for entry into the historic monuments of India including Konark temple.
