Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: In a transforming statement by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today, Transgenders in Bhubaneswar will be appointed and posted as Parking ticket collectors across the city.
According to sources, “the initiation taken by BMC will aid to empower the third gender of our society. Decision for allocating two major parking lots for the concern has been decided by the BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary. TG Swikruti, the Self Help Group formed for the development & empowerment of Transgender in the state has been given the contract for collecting the parking fees across Bhubaneswar.”
The first parking lot will be covering 4 parking sites in between Rajmahal square to Master Canteen square. And the second lot will be covering 5 parking sites from Master caneen square to Shriya square, said senior officials of BMC.
