Tulasi Khetra of Odisha celebrates ‘Ratha Yatra of Baladev Jew’:

Kendrapara: July 07:  Ratha Yatra of Baladev Jew was also celebrated yesterday in Tulasi Khetra, Kendrapada of Odisha. Devotees in large number were there at Tulasi Khestra  to witness the Ratha Yatra of Lord Baladev Jew.According to sources, the ‘Bramha’ of Lord Baladev Jew was placed on the chariot on Wednesday. As per the tradition, the chariot was pulled for only 100 metres yesterday after the ‘Bramha’ of Lord Baladev Jew was placed on it. The chariot will be pulled in the afternoon today, sources added.

The 64-foot-high wooden chariot of Lord Baladev Jew is the biggest chariot in the state as its height is more than that of the chariots of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. Sources said, total of 22 temple carpenters have completed the construction of the chariot having 14 wheels that signify the 14 universes (Brahmanda). total of 22 temple carpenters are busy completing construction of the chariot having 14 wheels that signify the 14 universes (bramhanda).

It is believed that after getting a glimpse of Ratha Yatra in Puri, if a person witnesses Ratha Yatra of Lord Baladev Jew. he or she gets salvation.
