Keonjhar, Sept 12: On Sunday night, a woman named Jamuna Dehuri died as a tusker squashed her to death at Keonjhar district.
As per information, while Jamuna was on her way back home near Kashada village under Bhuyan Juanga Pitha forest range in the district last night, she came in front of the tusker who squashed her to death.
She was taken to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital by the forest officials where the doctors declared her dead on arrival after verification.
After the incident, demanding compensation, the irate villagers had gheraoed the Ranger’s office on Monday morning, who were later placated after an assurance by the officials to provide financial aid.
