Bhubaneswar, Sept 18: Odisha’s Capital city is to conduct a two-day conference on national labour starting from September 20 and conclude on September 21. It would be organized by the State Labour Department and International Labour Organization (ILO).
The conference would witness Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment. Issues such as social security of labourers, various welfare measures as well as wage issues would be discussed at the Conference. Apart from this, industrial Disputes Act, abolition of child labour would also be discussed. Prafulla Mallick, the Labour minister said that it’s the first ever conference on labourers which is to be held in Odisha.
This upcoming conference will prove to be beneficial for the workers to a very large extent as informed by the President of Odisha Construction Labourers’ Welfare Board, Subash Singh.
