Two More Omicron Cases Found In Odisha
Odisha reported two more cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, informed the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The presence of Omicron variant of the virus was confirmed in the two persons following genome sequencing, said ILS. Both have returned from Nigeria and are minors.
At present, the total number of Omicron infections in the state has risen to four.
Notably, two Omicron cases have already been identified in Odisha earlier. One of them returned from Nigeria and another from Qatar.
On Wednesday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pataik urged the people to be vigilant and to also follow Covid appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks, social distancing and hand sanitisation. He also advised not to visit outdoors unless it is necessary.
