Bhubaneswar, June 25: On Saturday, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh asked Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to take appropriate action as a fierce answer to the attack done on Union Minister Santosh Gangwar at Bargarh on Friday.
Home minister Office tweeted (@HMOIndia) saying, “The Home Minister, Rajnath Singh also advised CM Shri Naveen Patanaik to take appropriate action and prevent any such untoward incident in future.” It also wrote, “The HM has asked CM Odisha to look into the incident and ensure the safety and security of the union ministers visiting the state,” Rajnath’s office said.”
Politics widened in the state thus hovering about the incident. A BJP delegatory in a meet with Governor, S C Jamir in Bhubaneswar sought out his intervention for an impartial probe into the incident and by addressing a MoU to the Governor; BJP accused State Textiles minister, Snehangini Chhuria of provoking the violence.
To an answer to this, BJP workers led by former Rajya Sabha member Rudra Narayan Pani showed black flags to the chief minister at Dhenkanal, where Naveen travelled for a government program. Police detained around 12 BJP members.
Informed by BJD Sources, irrespective of the home minister’s direction, the BJD government here has been acting against the criminals of the crime.
Protesting BJD workers had damaged the window panes of Gangwar’s car at Bargarh. Gangwar along with Union minister Niranjan Jyoti and former Jharkhand chief minister Arjuna Munda were in Bargarh to attend party’s Vikas Utsav event marking two years of Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
