FIR against 15 ineligible beneficiaries under NFSA:

Bhubaneswar: June 25: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation filed FIR against fifteen illegal beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act. As advised by the Collector and district magistrate of Khurda district, marketing inspectors of the Civil Supplies & Consumer Welfare department conducted a thorough verification and detected 15 ineligible beneficiaries.

The Collector has also supplied the list of those 15 ineligible beneficiaries to BMC for action and also instructed to recover the cost of the food grains lifted by them with reference to the OPDR Act.

Accordingly, BMC filed FIR against 15 beneficiaries staying in Khandagiri, Chandrasekharpur, Phool Nakhara, Capital and Old Town police stations area.

The authorities also warned other illegal beneficiaries against violation of the NFSA and said that to avoid embarrassment and the cost recovery of the lifted food grains; they must return the illegal ration cards with immediate effect.
