New Delhi: Cine star Uttam Mohanty who was critically airlifted to Delhi is now undergoing treatment at Gurugram’s Medant Hospital.
He was admitted in ICU at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. As his condition deteriorated he was airlifted. He was taken in a green corridor from the Hospital till Bhubaneswar airport was done before his airlift. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis.
According to information, he was undergoing treatment since four days at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He had gone for a film shooting when he complained of health discomfort. He was rushed to a private hospital and after treatment he had returned to his home. But again his health deteriorated and he was rushed to a private hospital. After that he was airlifted to New Delhi for further treatment.
Initiating his career from Odia film ‘Abhimaan’ in 1977 Uttam Mohanty has worked in more than 110 films including ‘Nijhum Ratira Sathi’ (1979), ‘Phula Chandana’ (1982), ‘Jhiati Sita Pari’ (1983) and Danda Balunga (1984). He has also acted in a few TV serials including ‘Sara Akasha’. He has got the most prestigious Jayadeb Puraskar in 1999, besides Odisha Living Legend Award 2012 and Odisha State Film award for several times as Best Actor.
