Kendujhar: A tomato-laden truck reportedly overturned in Kendujhar district of Odisha on Wednesday morning. The incident took place near the Nursery chowk of Chemena on the NH 49 under Turumunga Police station limits. As the ill-fated vehicle overturned, people took away tomatoes.
As per reports, a tomato-laden truck overturned after the driver lost control over the steering today morning. As a result, the driver was slightly injured. However, following the accident, people rushed near the truck and looted tomatoes. They took away tomatoes as much as they can. They took away the vegetable in whatever container they got.
According to information, the tomato-laden truck was heading towards Kolkata from Chhattisgarh.
It is believed that the accident occurred due to dense fog. As the vehicle overturned, all the tomatoes it was carrying fell everywhere on the road. After that, people were seen taking away tomatoes from there. People were seen carrying tomatoes on bicycles and bikes. Even people passing by on the road were seen getting down and taking away tomatoes.
After getting information, police reached the spot and taking over the situation.
