Vigilance seizes Rs. 7.5 lakh from Malkangiri RD engineer’s car

Malkangiri, Aug 27: Rural Development Department’s executive engineer, Ramesh Chandra Jali and a contractor were nabbed by the Vigilance sleuths on Saturday.

As per information a raid was conducted at Mathili by the Vigilance officials. While Ramesh was traveling in his car, a vigilance team stopped him. The team searched the car and found Rs 7.5 lakh in the vehicle along with the contractor. 

Following the incident, Ramesh and the contractor were detained for interrogation. The officials also raided Ramesh’s Government office and house at Malkangiri and sealed a house at Balipeta in Jeypore in Koraput district.

Further investigation to find out the source behind the huge amount found in Ramesh’s car is being conducted by the Vigilance.
