Sambalpur, Feb 9: Deputy Sub-Registrar of Sohela in Bargarh District and one of his clerks were Monday arrested by Sambalpur Vigilance sleuths when the two were accepting bribe from a person to hand over the sale deed of a plot he had got registered.
DSR Himanshu Naik and clerk KC Dani fell in vigilance net while accepting Rs 7000 from a complainant Thabira Meher to hand over the registry document, sources said.
The bribe money has been said from the accused and a case registered, they said.
Poets’ convention for more translations
Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The participants of the four-day All India Poets’ Convention at Konark has batted for more translation of poems penned by noted poets of the country.
They said more translation of works of eminent poets will help spread goodwill across the country.
The participants in the convention included noted Bangladesh poet Prof Mohammad Nurul Tuna, odia poet Soubhagya Mishra, English language poet Sudip Sen, and Sanskrit poet Kushlendra Pandey.
