New Delhi: December 4:The West Indies team has made a new move to take on the Indian team. Monty has been appointed by the West Indies as a batting coach with a two-year deal. Desai has also served as Canada’s head coach in the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 and Afghanistan’s batting coach in the ICC Cricket World Cup qualifier in 2018. Not only that, recently he was the UAE batting coach in the ICC T20 World Cup winner. Desai will join the West Indies squad ahead of the three T20 matches against India to be held on Friday (December 6) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
After being selected as a batting coach, Desai said, “First of all I want to thank Cricket West Indies for giving this incredible opportunity to me.” I feel very proud to be associated with a team that has earned such a name in the history of world cricket. On the other hand, praising Desai, West Indies coach Simmons said, “I have worked with Monty before and he is an excellent coach.” They have proved that they have the ability to improve their talent and perform better in matches. In this way, along with the batting coach, the West Indies team has included bowling coach Roddy Estwick and fielding coach Ryan Griffith.
