Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: To keep a strict vigil on anti social elements the whole capital city of Bhubaneswar would soon be under CCTV surveillance.
The police have prepared list of about 90-100 locations in Bhubaneswar and its outskirts where cameras would be installed. Of the total locations 50 per cent locations would have PTZ (pan–tilt–zoom) cameras which can capture photos from all sides as they have the 360 degree pan.
A meeting to this effect was held at the Commissionerate headquarters under the chairmanship of Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma.
The Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OSPHWC) would execute the project.
It should be noted, the Commissionerate Police has already installed more than 100 CCTV cameras in some major squares and strategic locations in the capital city.
