Wi-Fi connectivity all over in Odisha capital prior to Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar, Mar 4: Odisha to come up with efficient Wi-Fi connectivity in the capital city by connecting all parts of the city through fiber optics network spreading across 1800 access points before the Men’s Hockey World Cup in Nov 2018. Yesterday Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik presided over a meeting on Smart City projects at the State Secretariat here where he directed all the departments to complete their respective project within the decided deadline. Various other proposals related to the Smart City were discussed and decided upon for smart solution during the meeting. A budget of Rs 550 cr has been decided for enhancing the city’s traffic management, parking system, tracking of public transport and management of emergency services, quick enforcement and internet connectivity. It’s decided that the already existing traffic system would be augmented through sensors and challan system so that the rule breakers would be notified. Computer aided mechanism will help people track movement of PCR vans, ambulances, fire and water tanker and other emergency services through mobile app. Use of IT in public services, health, education will be ensured through the implementation of smart projects. All this was informed to media by the Chief Secretary, AP Padhi.
