Since last few months, the fight between former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjyot Singh Sidhu, was growing which ended with Amarinder Singh’s resignation.

Speaking to Media, Amarinder said, he felt humiliated in Congress and that is the reason he resigned’.

Sources said Amarinder spoke to Congress president Sonia Gandhi this morning and told her he is being humiliated and will instead resign from the party.

Congress’ Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the 16th chief minister of Punjab, replacing Captain Amarinder Singh who resigned on amid the ongoing political tussle with the party’s state unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu.

After that, it was expected that, every thing will be in-place soon. But, soon after Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu announced his resignation from his position on Tuesday.

Now, the Party is in crisis.
Amid this crisis, former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh met  with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. It was expected that, he will join BJP.  But  Singh clearly said, he will not be joining the BJP, he had also made it clear that he does not intend to stay with the Congress any longer.

Sources said, he may form his own political party. Reportedly, Singh is consulting with his supporters to have the plan for a new party.

Punjab was one of the few states where the Congress government was stable since last elections.

But, Sidhu, who has switched from the BJP,  managed to destabilise the government.
