Keonjhar, Dec 19: In a tragic mishap at Sijukala village under Champua Forest Range in the district, a woman crushed to death by a tusker early this morning.
Identified as Lali Mohanty, the deceased had gone to the backyard of her house to attend nature’s call, while the elephant attacked her.
After being informed, the forest department officials with the help of locals rushed the woman to the Keonjhar DHH where the doctors declared her brought dead.
As per the government norms 3-lakh compensation will be given to the deceased family later while an Rs 10000 was provided to carry out the final rites of the deceased.
