New Delhi, April 1: Xiaomi has finally launched its 2016 flagship smartphone — the Mi 5 in India priced at Rs 24,999. The smartphone goes on sale starting April 6, which will initially only be available for purchase via Mi.com. Though the company says it will also be available with online retailers as well in the coming months
The company showcased three variants of the smartphone when it was initially unveiled during Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, though the Indian market will only get the one featuring 3GB RAM/32GB storage
Designed to impress with its top-of-the-line specs and gorgeous looking design at a relatively economical price point, key specifications on the phone include a 5.15-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 16-megapixel primary camera, a 4 Ultrapixel selfie cam along with a fingerprint scanner.
Juicing up the device is a 3,000 mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0. Connectivity options on the phone include USB Type C, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC. The smartphone runs Android 6 with the company’s custom Android skin MIUI 7 on top. It will be available in Black, White, Gold and Ceramic colour options.
