Mumbai, April 1: Just when everyone thought MS Dhoni had exhausted all tongue-in-cheek ways to dismiss questions about his retirement from international cricket, the Indian skipper pulled out a rabbit from his hat.

Speaking at a news conference after his team’s loss to West Indies in the World T20 semifinal on Thursday, Dhoni invited a foreign journalist on to the stage before answering a question over plans to hang up his boots. “Come here, let’s have some fun,” a smiling Dhoni said to Cricket Australia journalist Samuel Ferris who had asked him “will you continue playing after this tournament?”

A taken-aback Ferris could be seen trying to determine whether Dhoni was serious about the invitation. The smiling Indian captain, however, soon cleared the air: “I am serious, come here.”
