Banapur, Dec 6: A youth named Prasana Nayak aka Tulu, resident of Keshpur village has been arrested by the Odisha Police based on a complaint registered against him on charges of rape and attempt to murder.
As per sources, Tulu and a disabled girl were in a relationship for more than five years. On the pretext of marriage, Tulu managed to develop a physical relation with the girl.
Later the affair came in front of the public and so the girl demanded their marriage or else she would commit suicide. Tulu agreed to marry her and asked her to come to a temple for the same. Later when the girl didn’t found Tulu at the temple she took the issue to Tulu’s kin but in return they thrashed her.
The matter didn’t stop here. Two brothers of Tulu took the girl to kill her. While doing so some women seeing this, rushed to save her. Immediately the miscreant ran away. Later, the girl’s kin reached the spot, rescued her and filed a complaints at Banapur Police station.
A case numbered 300/16 was registered and investigation is also going on, informed Banapur Police station officials.
Medical examination will be conducted of Tulu and the victim and later Tulu will be moved to court, police officials further informed.
