In the year since it proclaimed its "caliphate," the Islamic State group has become the world's most infamous jihadist organisation, attracting international franchises and spreading fear with acts of extreme violence. The group proclaimed its self-described caliphate on June 29, 2014, urging Muslims worldwide to pledge allegiance to its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, renamed Caliph Ibrahim. The group pledged to make "the West and the East... submit," and has seized territory in northern and western Iraq and eastern and northern Syria.a. Harare, Jan 15: A report that Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe suffered a heart attack is a “grim lie,” his spokesman George Charamba said Thursday.

Charamba blamed the online news website ZimEye for starting the rumors that President Robert Mugabe was reported to have collapsed after suffering a heart attack while on holiday with his family and is in critical condition.

Mugabe, the world’s oldest head of state and one of its longest-serving, is the only leader Zimbabwe has known since gaining independence in 1980.

The aging leader, who will turn 92 next month, has stumbled twice in public in 2015.
