Two elephants found dead in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district

Mayurbhanj, Sept 10: Today morning, locals found the bodies of two elephants-a female elephant and a calf lying in mud at Niuti Chamarasahi under the Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district this morning.

The locals later informed the forest department following which Madhusudan Patra, local Ranger and Forest department officials rushed to the spot along with a scientific team to find out the reason behind the death of the two elephants.

However, with the reason behind the death yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that anthrax might have caused the death of the two elephants.
