Rairangpur, Apr 5: Today the national capital police rescued a minor girl who is a tribal of Mayurbhanj. She had been exposed to torture for almost two years. The main accused in this crime, Anita Patra aged 28 has also been arrested. Investigation has begun as well. It’s stated that the 13-year old minor left home following an altercation with her mother on Dec 5, 2015. She met Anita at Nuadihi Chhak who convinced the minor to come with her to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. Few days later the accused took the minor to New Delhi and got her married to Binod Kumar of Pahar Ganj area in New Delhi on Dec 8, 2015. The marriage had just crossed six months that the accused again forced the girl to marry another youth of Uttar Pradesh. On Jan 21, 2016, family members of the girl filed a missing complaint at the Tiring PS following which both Odisha and Delhi police rescued the victim from New Delhi and arrested Anita. The victim’s statement has been recorded under section-164 of the CrPC and the accused has also been forwarded to court. Tiring police station IIC Padmalochan Panigrahy informed to media.
