SIT serves notice to 100 persons for hoarding black money

Bhubaneswar, April 27: Notices have been issued to nearly 100 persons who are alleged to have hoarded black money.

The notices were issued after a meeting of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the black money trail, headed by SIT Vice-Chairman Justice Arijit Pasayat, ended at his residence in Cuttack on Wednesday.

Justice Pasayat said all efforts are being made to bring back black money hoarded within and outside the country.

The SIT set up by the Centre to probe black money stashed by Indians abroad and also the money laundering activities inside the country is being headed by former Supreme Court Judge MB Shah.

Officials of high-profile agencies and departments including Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing, CBI and Enforcement Directorate, Crime Branch, Mines, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and officials of Central and State Governments attended the meeting on Wednesday.
