CBI enqiry in Kandhamal Incident demanded by PIL

Cuttack, July 19: By demanding CBI probe into the killing incident happened at Kandhamal on July 8, consisting of the state Home Secretary, Director General of police (DGP), DIG, Southern Range and Kandhamal SP, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL)  has registered a case in the Odisha High Court on Tuesday.

On filing the case, Sunil Kumar Rath, RTI activists, alleged that no significant steps has been taken yet by the state government though the incident has surpasses 12 day already. But no one has been arrested yet. He has also requested the court to urgently intervene in the matter thus requesting for a CBI probe. They also requested the court for adequate compensation to be provided from the state government to the affected families and a government job to one member of each family.
