Puri, Aug 17: The erosion at the Puri beach by the surging sea waves would be fixed by natural process. Structure construction would damage the scenic beauty of the beach, Pradip Jena, Water Resources secretary today informed.
The expert team from IIT Madras who had earlier visited the spot, would give necessary suggestions after examining various aspects of the erosion. Majorly, to rebuild the beach, natural process would be considered, he further stated.
Mangala river mouth digging process has been started and it would be completed in seven to eight days. It is expected that this would help to rebuild the erosion at Swargadwara, Jena added. No artificial techniques will be applied if the process worked in rebuilding the beach.
Notably, after the tidal waves swallowed the beach, many spots have been marked with red flags restricting the entry of the tourists.
