Malkangiri, Nov 21: With the death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri district touching 114 yesterday, the district administration on Sunday started a house-to-house survey for collection of data about kids in between 1 and 15 years old here as a part of process for vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis.

The Malkangiri district administration has formed 890 teams to undertake the house-to-house survey across the district. Each survey team comprising a local teacher, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will undertake a headcount of kids in the district till November 22. The house-to-house enumeration process will be monitored by a gram panchayat-level officer.

Notably, the district administration has planned to start the vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis from 8 am to 3 pm daily from the first week of December.
