Keonjhar, Jan 13: After Saraswati Jena was defeated in the no trust vote which was held in July, 2016, today, she being the Anandpur civic body Chairperson, was dethroned from her post. The result of the vote was declared today after the High Court directive. while the count was been done, it was seen that 12 voters favoured the no confidence motion. This was said by Anandpur sub-collector Maheswar Swain. he further added that the result will soon be apprised to the Collector. The High Court had directed the Keonjhar district administration to declare the result of the ‘No Confidence’ vote against the civic body chief. Till the last five months, the result was kept in suspicion as Jena had got a stay order on the result from the High Court. Earlier, a single-judge bench of the High Court had made a similar order on Jan 3 that allowed the district administration to announce the result after vacating the stay. But, Jena again opposed the order of the HC given on Jan 3 in a writ petition. However, the Division Bench of the HC headed by Chief Justice Vineet Saran dismissed her petition.
