Kendrapara, Jan 31: A day after Gayatri Sethy took a U-turn  in the Penthapala samiti member nomination withdrawal issue, another candidate Pramila Mallick has given another twist saying that she has not withdrawn her nomination papers. Similarly, today the Kendrapara ADM paid a visit to Pattamundai and recorded the statement of BDO and Gayatri Sethy’s husband as part of the probe into the current controversy.

Regarding the Penthapala panchayat samiti member nomination withdrawal issue, samity member candidate Gayatri Sethy took a U-turn yesterday writing to the district administration that she had given media statement of not withdrawing nominations under pressure from Congress party. Gayatri’s husband, who gave the letter to sub-collector, said his wife had told lie under severe pressure by some Congress leaders. Reacting to the U-turn of the samity member contestant, senior Congress leader Ganeswar Behera, who earlier had demanded through probe into the entire episode, condemned the matter, holding the local MLA, Kishore Tarai and BJD government responsible for the matter. On the other hand, Kendrapara legislator denied his role in the whole issue.

Meanwhile, in yet another trouble for the Kendrapara MLA Kishore Tarai, BJP Yuva Morcha of the district lodged a complaint against him with police on charges of submitting false affidavit to Election Commission (EC) during 2004 and 2014 general elections.
