International woman’s day: Odisha CM launches new helpline number for female safety in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 8: Today Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik launched a helpline number ‘181’ on dialing which immediate assistance would be provided to the to the female section in the state at the time of any problem such as any kind of atrocities and violence in any part of the state. Patnaik launched this at the state level programme organised by Women and Child Development Department here on the occasion of Inetrnational Women’s Day. He further said that today is a day to make the commitment for women empowerment much stronger and recognizing a woman’s role in various fields of life.

Women and Child Development Minister Usha Debi stated that the government has initiated several measures for women upliftment that includes the Kanya Ratna yojna and today this new helpline number being launched. This number would ensure all the women of Odisha that immediate assistance would be provided to them in all emergency times.
