Woman accused of stealing Newborn, nabbed


Cuttack, Mar 11: Woman accused of stealing babies from hospital has finally been caught by the Commissionerate police yesterday. The woman, whose photo was released by the police yesterday, stole a new born from the Cuttack SCB Medical College & Hospital on March 8.

Two newborns stolen by the woman on January 5 & March 8, were rescued yesterday night by the Mangalabagh Police, while two other babies were rescued from Kafla Bazar and Barang area.

The woman who claim to be an ASHA worker, is suspected to be of involved in such acts at other places too. However, of some preliminary investigations, it is said that the woman has been working at a Cuttack based nursing home, said sources.

Notably, a baby was stolen from the Cuttack SCB Medical on March 8, following to which a case was registered at the Mangalabagh Police Station, on which the police acted and nabbed the thieve.
