Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: A high level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary, Aditya Prasad Padhi on Wednesday, has given its decision to construct 5864 km roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) which will connect 1083 villages.
The construction work of road will be completed in fiscal year of 2016-17 and total budget allocated for this project is Rs 2500 crore which includes 40 percent of States government share and 60 of Central.
Padhi also instructed to initiate required steps to complete 613 ongoing projects to the concerned department and finish it by June 2017.
A target has also been set by the state government to finish the construction work of 1750 km roads with a budget of Rs 840 crore which will completed by October 2017.
Prabir Kumar Mohanty, Engineer-in-Chief, Bharat Chandra Pradhan, Chief Engineer, authorities of Department of Rural Development were present there in the meeting.
