Rayagada: An inter-state dacoit gang was busted while 8 active members of the gang have been arrested by the Rayagada police earlier on Tuesday.
In a breakthrough operation by a special team of Rayagada police under the command of the Rayagada SDPO and IIC, a raid was conducted at Mutabali village of Phulbani district in which the 8 robbers were arrested from their hideout.
The arrested dacoits at large have been involved in various criminal cases and are also involved in robbery and loot of various cars in the district of Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur and Bolangir. With their arrest, the cops have seized two cars, two bikes, some mobile phones from their possession. While another accused (member of the gang) is still out, moving free.
The arrested accused were court forwarded yesterday, said sources.
