Pending Nabakalebara projects fast tracked: CS

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: State government has asked the concerned departments to expedite completion of the pending works taken up during the religious jamboree Nabakalebar – changing of the bodies of the deities at Puri Sri Jagannath Temple – nearly nine months ago.

Chief Secretary AP Padhi who reviewed the works on Thursday directed PWD Secretary Nalinikant Pradhan to complete the 30-feet wide road construction work around Sri Jagannath Temple at Puri by April this year.

The government has allocated Rs 3.2 crore for the project for which the processes like land acquisition, encroachment removal and drainage relocation have been completed.

The Chief Secretary said over 100 tourist and inter-State buses are arriving at the ultramodern bus stand at Malatipatpur on the outskirts of the Holy city every day.
