Odisha enters Girls U-18 football final

MARGAO, OCT 19: Odisha entered finals of the Junior National Football Championship for Girls U-18 with a resounding 4-1 win over Bihar in the second semi-final today. Now, they will take on favourite Manipur in the final match to be played on Wednesday.
Odisha took early led in the match played at the Raia Panchayat Ground in Raia, with Swarnapriya Nayak scoring the first goal of the match in the 6th minute.
Suman Pragyan Mohapatra and Jasmani Samad combined well upfront for Odisha and put pressure on the rival defense.
Bihar was no match for the Odisha strong midfield players Sasmita Behera, Anima Malik, Arati Sethi and Swarna Priya Nayak.
Jasmani Samad scored a goal for Odisha in the 33rd minute to give her team 2-0 lead.
Bihar got penalty strike in the 37th minute which Shama Rani converted it into a goal.
In the second half, Odisha dominated the show and did not give any opportunity to Bihar to score.
Samad scored her second goal in the 67th minute as Odisha extended the lead to 3-1.
