Bhubaneswar, July 30: BJP activists ransacked the Bhadrak Collector’s office during a hartal started by the party for protesting against the alleged irregularities in distribution of ration cards under the National Food Security Act NFSA.
They began revolt in Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Kamakhyanagar, Angul, Sonepur, Jeypore, Khurdha, Balasore, Ganjam and other places in the State for the demand of distribution of transparent ration cards. They also raised protest against the malnutrition death issue at Nagada and also inadequacy of drought assistance to the farmers at the time of the hartal.
The saffron party alleged that the real beneficiaries which are the poor people have been deprived of ration cards. But on the contrary, BJD said that the genuine ones who are in real need of the ration cards have been provided with it.
